2001 Panza Petite Syrah

Region: Napa Valley

Age of Vines: 7 Years

Geographic Location: Stags' Leap Ranch

Exposure: South by southeast

Soil: Shallow loam over clay hardpan

Subterranean: Ancient terraces

Production: 900 cases

Tasting Notes:

An immense, powerful wine, dark, rich and hearty, with wonderful aromas of ripe plum, raspberry and blackberry with spicy floral scents and a solid core of flavors. It packs the requisite dense core of tannins, but also shows some pretty notes of vanilla and tobacco.
