Tasting Notes
Short and sweet describes the 2004 growing season, one of the earliest harvests in recent Napa history. But that's not to suggest any shortcomings in the bottle. To the contrary, this is a wine with depth, defined by layered tannins and exceptional balance. The first thing to notice are the aromas of rose petal, anise and blackberry offset by subtle vanilla spice nuances. Then there are those bright fruit tastes so prominent in the Stags Leap Appellation and mouth-coating finish. Drink it now, but don't be afraid to set it aside until the next election.
