"The new Quixote Panza Petite Sirah is a stunning wine"

California/Rhône

The new Quixote Panza Petite Sirah is a stunning wine, enormously rich and polished, yet offering a touch of sophistication. It's from Carl Doumani, a long-time supporter of this grape, and named for Don Quixote's humble sidekick.

Panza Stags Leap Ranch Napa Valley 2000
93 points | $36 | 500 cases made

A gorgeous, sophisticated, over-the-top Petite; rich, smooth and concentrated, with layers of plum, blackberry and wild berry, with coconut and mocha oak draped on top, finishing with smooth, plush tannins and a long aftertaste. It has lots of tannin, too, as you might expect. Drink now through 2012.
